The 'new' one does its job at least as well as its predecessor. Very deep and round, with power when needed. Great for home theater, and after a little tweaking, just as good for music playback, whether pop, rock, or classical. Full, deep bass without booming! More than enough for our 35 sq m living room.

The Edifier T5s can generally be placed flat under the sofa, provided there is sufficient space for ventilation and no openings are blocked. For optimal sound quality, the woofer should be aligned with the listening position and not rest directly on fabric surfaces. Of course, the ideal solution would still be to set it up upright as intended by the manufacturer.
