Dayton Audio DAEX25 sound exciters make virtually any solid object act like a speaker by vibrating it at speeds of up to 20,000 cycles per second. The vibrations modulate the air, which your brain then decodes as sound. We have tested sound exciters on almost everything you can imagine and placed them under desks, inside overhead cabinets, behind picture frames, in cans, behind paper plates, in folders, cardboard, wood offcuts and even in the box they were shipped in! Test the limits of your imagination. Each stick-on sound exciter is engineered for a wide frequency range and high sensitivity. Built-in spring clips allow quick connection to speaker wire (sold separately). Strong 3M adhesive pads stick to almost any solid surface for secure, long-lasting playback. Sold in pairs.
An excellent application for these exciters is so-called DML or flat-panel speakers. DML stands for Distributed Mode Loudspeaker and describes speakers that stand out with an incredibly slim design.
