Plinth & Construction

The plinth of the Planar 3 RS Edition is made from premium HPL laminate with a brushed aluminium surface and a black high-gloss edge — a construction Rega previously reserved for higher-tier models. This stiff, low-resonance foundation, combined with the proven Double Brace technology between tonearm and bearing, minimizes vibrations and unwanted resonances. The result: clear, uncoloured sound with pure tonal colours and a stable sonic image.

Drive & Speed Stability

The belt drive is powered by a 24 V synchronous motor that runs exceptionally quietly. The pulley is CNC-machined and driven by a high-end Reference EBLT belt — the kind normally found only in more expensive models. This setup ensures very stable rotation, excellent speed consistency and minimal "wow & flutter".

Tonearm & Tracking

The hand-mounted RB330 tonearm offers supreme precision: play-free bearings, optimized mass distribution and an ergonomically proven headshell. The pre-fitted Nd5 MM cartridge features an elliptical nude diamond stylus and uses miniature parallel coils with a high winding count for low inductance and excellent high-frequency response. The result is very detailed, balanced and musical playback of your records.

Ease Of Use & Features

Thanks to the external Neo PSU Mk2 power supply you can switch speeds at the push of a button from 33 to 45 rpm — no manual belt change required. The glass platter with polished edges and the tinted dust cover complete the premium impression and help the turntable blend visually into your hi-fi setup.
