A Look Back in Time! We’re excited to announce the return of the Boogie Split Back 2x12 and 4x12 cabinets, responsible for some of the biggest rock tones of the ’80s. These innovative cabinets, recorded and toured by the decade’s best and wildest players, combined the best traits of open- and closed-back cabinets in one handy package. After nearly three decades on hiatus, we’re resuming production of these extraordinary Boogie cabinets. They’re the perfect match for our Mark IIC+ and Dual Rectifier Solo Heads!

The Boogie Split Back design delivers the unfiltered, airy, clean performance of open-back cabinets with an open chamber on top, plus the punchy, tight bass of a closed-back cabinet with a sealed chamber below. This covers a wide sonic range guitarists need without requiring separate, specialized cabinets.

Durable Bronco Tolex vinyl and hand-formed leather corners cover the exterior of the cavity-free Baltic birch plywood enclosure, creating a strong and sonically rich home for the UK-made Celestion drivers. The unique and rugged expanded metal grill protects and beautifies them, while the removable casters on their Track-Loc guide plates make transport and setup a breeze.

The 2x12 Split Back houses two of our in-house Celestion C90 drivers, with the lower one in a ported chamber for extra punch and depth. Like all MESA cabinets wired standard at 8 Ohms, the rear jack plate features the main input and a PARALLEL output jack (adding an extra 8-Ohm cabinet results in a 4-Ohm total load).
