New, Enhanced Stereo Technology

The THR series features Yamaha’s new, enhanced stereo technology for an incredibly wide and full sound image. Stereo tracks and studio reverbs gain a depth that seems unimaginable from such a small device.

Dual Effect Section

THR amps have two effect processors with natural and highly musical effects. One processor handles modulation effects in the style of stompboxes, while the other provides studio-quality delay and reverb. Both effect processors can be extensively edited via the THR Editor software.

THR Editor

The THR Editor offers comprehensive computer-controlled editing options for amps and effects. Additionally, compressor and noise gate functions are available. The THR Editor is available for download at https://download.yamaha.com.

USB Connection

As a playback input, the THR offers not only an analog AUX jack (e.g., for connecting a smartphone) but also a USB connection for computer hookup.

Cubase AI

THR comes with Cubase AI, Steinberg’s professional music production software, for full-fledged recording and editing.

Tap: Metronome / Hold: Tuner

The tap function allows easy setting of delay times. The built-in chromatic tuner works precisely and reliably and features an easy-to-read display.

Battery or Mains Operation

Thanks to dual power supply, THR amps can be powered by mains (power supply included) or battery.

THR Session

THR Session is an iOS app optimized for THR. You can slow songs down without quality loss, change pitch, or loop parts of a song. This makes learning even the most complicated guitar parts easy.

It’s even possible to remove the original guitar from a playback – as if you were playing a session with your dream band! This app is the perfect toolbox for today’s guitarists – combined with a Yamaha THR amp, it creates an unparalleled practice environment.

Virtual Tube Glow

The THR illumination is staged by mimicking an orange tube glow behind the metal speaker grille.

Comfortable Stereo Headphones

The KH-238 delivers a full, balanced sound with rich bass reproduction and clear highs. It offers plenty of volume yet clean and precise stereo imaging. Naturally, the softly padded, wide headband is length adjustable. The extension offers 12 steps per side for optimal fit. For even more comfort, the ear cups are mounted on two axes. The thick, soft padding of the circumaural cups also provides good external noise isolation. The volume control integrated in the cable is always at hand, simplifying use with a PC or mp3 player. The 3.5 mm stereo jack plug delivers excellent transmission quality, and a 6.3 mm stereo jack adapter (nickel-plated) is also included.
