Guitarists know the tube amp stacks that sound amazing when cranked up loud. They also know combo amps that are perfect for smaller gigs and rehearsal rooms. Yamaha doesn’t believe a practice amp should just be a smaller version of a big amp, and with THR offers a third amp category that delivers exactly what guitarists need for playing at home.

Completely Wireless

All THR-II models feature Bluetooth for audio playback, the "THR Remote" app, and third-party footswitches. The THR10II Wireless and THR30II Wireless also include a battery and a Line 6 wireless receiver. Just grab your THR, guitar, and a Line 6 Relay G10T transmitter (sold separately) and play wherever the music takes you.

Bluetooth Functionality

All THR-II models offer Bluetooth for audio playback, the editor smartphone app, and third-party controllers (sold separately) to recall custom presets—completely cable-free and without manual parameter adjustments.

Mobile Editor for iOS/Android

The "THR Remote" app gives users a convenient way to adjust the amp via smartphone. You don’t have to stand right in front of your amp to shape your guitar tone. Just open the app and craft your unique sound from the couch. The editor is also available for PC and Mac.

Virtual Circuitry Modeling

Yamaha’s patented Virtual Circuitry Modeling (VCM) technology simulates electronic circuits down to the component level. By modeling components and their interactions, VCM produces especially realistic nuances of boutique tube amps—with their tone and feel.

15 Guitar Amps and 8 Effects

Three banks with five guitar amps each cover the full range from shimmering cleans through bluesy overdrive to aggressive high gain. Each bank also includes a bass amp, a microphone simulation for electro-acoustic guitars, and a neutral setting without modeling for other signals.

Additionally, THR offers two effect loops with 8 natural, highly musical effects. One effect path is dedicated to modulation effects in the style of pedals, the other provides delay and reverb. A compressor and noise gate are also available via the THR Remote software.

HiFi Audio Technology

The THR guitar amps were developed together with Yamaha’s award-winning AV division to enable true HiFi stereo sound. The exclusive, specially designed enclosure is optimized for playback of both guitars and audio tracks.

This makes THR uniquely capable of delivering impressive playback of both guitars and favorite music—despite its compact size.

Integrated Audio Interface

The amps in the new THR-II series are USB Class Compliant, allowing easy connection to PC, Mac, and mobile devices without driver installation. This lets you use your THR-II as a recording interface with ease.

Cubase AI / Cubasis LE

All THR-II models come with Cubase AI and Cubasis LE. Cubase AI is Steinberg’s professional music production software offering full recording and editing features. Cubasis LE is a multitouch-compatible DAW app that enables music production on the iPad.

Comfortable Stereo Headphones

The KH-238 delivers full, balanced sound with rich bass and clear highs. It offers plenty of volume while maintaining clean and precise stereo imaging. The softly padded, wide headband is length-adjustable with 12 steps per side for an optimal fit. For even more comfort, the ear cups rotate on two axes. The thick, soft padding of the circumaural cups also provides good external noise isolation. The integrated volume control on the cable is always within reach, making it easy to use with a PC or mp3 player. The 3.5 mm stereo jack offers excellent transmission quality, and a 6.3 mm stereo adapter is also included.
