Typical design

Characteristic of the Celtic harp is the typical curved shape of the column, as it can also be found on the Irish coat of arms. Made out of ash tree, the hooked harp has a range of 4 octaves (C - c³).

Tuning

The 29 strings are tuned diatonically in E-flat major, with the blue and red strings indicating where the notes C and F are located. By flipping up the respective hooks, the harp is quickly retuned to a different key, making it very flexible to play music with others. For the first tries and easier understanding, however, a C tuning is just as possible.

Lever mechanism

The special mechanism of this harp makes it a versatile accompanist in different keys. Every single string is equipped with a semitone key, which raises the tone of the respective string by a semitone when it is folded. Thus, with a few simple adjustments, you are also equipped for any cross-tone.
