Taylor Jacob Collier Signature Models!

Taylor is proud to present the Jacob Collier Signature Model, developed in collaboration with the visionary artist and multiple GRAMMY winner who constantly pushes musical boundaries. The signature model comes in two different configurations: a 5-string tuned to DAEAD (the lower/bass strings are tuned in fifths, while the upper/treble strings are tuned in fourths) and a more traditional 6-string strung in standard tuning.

Jacob Collier’s Dream Comes True!

The 5-string edition is inspired by a custom 5-string Taylor acoustic guitar that Collier has been playing for several years. "I dreamed for many, many years about this guitar tuning before the guitar even existed," says Collier. "And one day I asked Taylor: 'What do you think about putting a five-string guitar on a six-string neck tuned in a very strange way, with exactly the same range as a normal guitar, just with different intervals? And they said yes, which changed my whole life."

Like Collier’s custom Taylor guitar, the 5-string guitar is tuned to DAEAD to offer players the same unique intonation he loves. For beginners, this makes the guitar more accessible with simpler chord voicings. For advanced players, it offers a completely new sonic palette that invites new musical discoveries.

Both the 5-string and 6-string versions feature a Grand Concert body crafted from solid Hawaiian Koa in select quality and finished with a matte finish. The fretboard, bridge, and headstock are made of ebony, specially selected for its rich variegation.

Both models are equipped with Jacob’s signature aesthetic features, including a custom-made Koa truss rod cover with a laser-etched JC logo and a special interior label that also bears the logo. Other visual details on both guitars include a subtle black and maple rosette, a black binding on the resonator back, 4mm mother-of-pearl dot fretboard inlays, and a mother-of-pearl Taylor headstock logo.

Equipped with ultra-precise Gotoh 510 antique chrome tuners with matching buttons and LR Baggs Element VTC electronics, the Jacob Collier Signature Model delivers a natural acoustic tone when plugged in. It comes in a brown AeroCase for lightweight, durable protection.
