The Gibson SJ-200 was first introduced in 1937 as a Super Jumbo. With its super-jumbo body size and exceptional projection, the SJ-200 still makes a signature statement like no other acoustic guitar. Gibson is proud to present the updated SJ-200 Studio Rosewood.

The SJ-200 Studio Rosewood is hand-built in Bozeman, Montana, from solid tonewoods, featuring a Sitka spruce top with a glossy nitrocellulose finish for wide dynamics, strong response and a balanced tone. The rosewood used for the back and sides, finished in satin nitrocellulose, delivers a fuller low end than the more common maple-bodied SJ-200 models—much like some of the rare prewar vintage SJ-200s with rosewood backs. The full-depth SJ-200 Studio Rosewood body produces the rich, deep tone and the outstanding volume and projection this model is known for.

The SJ-200 Studio Rosewood features an Advanced Response profile and a satin-nitrocellulose–finished Utile neck for smooth, effortless playability. The Advanced Response neck profile falls between other Gibson profiles—not too thick, not too thin—so it feels "just right" to many players. The rosewood fretboard has 20 standard frets and is adorned with the classic graduated crown mother-of-pearl inlays, one of the visual hallmarks of the classic SJ-200 design.

The 16-inch fretboard radius makes fast passages easy and efficient, further enhancing the model's outstanding playability. You'll keep reaching for this guitar because it's so much fun to play. The headstock sports smooth-turning Grover Rotomatic tuners and a Graph Tech TUSQ nut for excellent tuning stability, so you spend more time playing and less time tuning. The nut and the bridge pins installed on the rosewood bridge plate are also made of TUSQ.

The SJ-200 Studio Rosewood features an active L.R. Baggs Element Bronze piezo pickup under the saddle with a conveniently placed soundhole-mounted volume control for easy studio-quality plug-and-play anywhere. Packed in a modern hardshell case for transport and protection, the SJ-200 Studio Rosewood is ready to go wherever your music takes you.
