The Gibson SJ-200 was first introduced in 1937 as a Super Jumbo. With its Super-Jumbo body size and outstanding projection, the SJ-200 still makes an unmistakable statement like no other acoustic guitar. Now Gibson is proud to introduce the updated SJ-200 Studio Rosewood.

The SJ-200 Studio Rosewood is handbuilt in Bozeman, Montana, from solid tonewoods, featuring a Sitka spruce top with a glossy nitrocellulose finish for wide dynamics, responsive attack, and a balanced tone. The rosewood used for the back and sides, finished in satin nitrocellulose, delivers a fuller low end than the more commonly found maple-bodied SJ-200 models, similar to some of the rare prewar vintage SJ-200s with rosewood backs. The full-depth body of the SJ-200 Studio Rosewood provides the rich, deep voice and the exceptional volume and projection this model is known for.

The SJ-200 Studio Rosewood features an Advanced Response profile and an Utile neck finished in satin nitrocellulose for smooth, easy playability. The Advanced Response neck profile sits between several other Gibson profiles — neither too thick nor too thin — and feels "just right" in the hands of many players. The rosewood fingerboard has 20 standard-sized frets and is adorned with the classic graduated crown mother-of-pearl inlays, one of the visual hallmarks of the classic SJ-200 design.

The 16-inch fingerboard radius makes playing fast passages easy and efficient, further enhancing the model's excellent playability. You will keep coming back to this guitar because it's so much fun to play. The headstock is fitted with smooth-turning Grover Rotomatic tuners and a Graph Tech TUSQ nut for outstanding tuning stability, so you spend more time playing and less time tuning. The nut and the bridge pins, installed on the rosewood bridge plate, are also made of TUSQ.

The SJ-200 Studio Rosewood features an active L.R. Baggs Element Bronze piezo pickup under the saddle with a quickly accessible soundhole-mounted volume control for simple, studio-quality plug-and-play anywhere. Packaged in a modern hardshell case for transport and protection, the SJ-200 Studio Rosewood is ready to accompany you wherever your music leads.
