Gibson LG-2 All Mahogany Faded Acoustic Guitar in Natural Including Case!

The Gibson LG-2 was first introduced in 1942 during the "Banner" era and quickly became a popular small-body acoustic known for its big sound. The LG-2 was originally released with a mahogany back and sides and a spruce top, but due to material shortages during the war replacement materials were often used. Gibson sometimes used maple for the back and sides, and there were also LG-2 models built with mahogany tops. Now Gibson proudly presents the new LG-2 All-Mahogany Faded, a modern reinterpretation of Gibson's vintage all-mahogany models.

The LG-2 All Mahogany Faded features a solid mahogany back and sides and a solid mahogany top. The mahogany top is reinforced with a Traditional Scalloped X-Bracing, and the body is finished with simple black binding on the top and back. The mahogany neck has a rounded profile and is attached to the body with a compound dovetail neck joint. The neck is fitted with a rosewood fretboard, equipped with 20 standard frets and decorated with elegant yet understated mother-of-pearl dot inlays.

The LG-2 All Mahogany Faded is fitted with an angled, rectangular, closed rosewood bridge. The bridge features a bone saddle while the bridge pins are made of TUSQ. Grover strap tuners with white buttons provide solid tuning stability and, together with the teardrop pickguard, contribute to the instrument's vintage charm.

The LG-2 All Mahogany Faded's mahogany top and body deliver a warmer, rounder, and softer tone than a similar-sized guitar with a spruce top, making it an ideal choice for folk, blues, and fingerstyle.
