Already the second backpacker

My first backpacker has accompanied me to various countries as far as South Sudan and is currently "living" in Kenya - from there she is also with me in East Africa. That's why I need a second backpacker to accompany me from Germany to other countries. Incidentally, it's the only guitar that fits easily into the overhead bins of small airplanes.

Very good workmanship. I always find the sound that comes out of this little thing amazingly good. It even sounds a bit like a Martin. I still have two "big" Martins - of course the Backpacker doesn't sound like this one - please be realistic - but it's still part of the family.

I tried another travel guitar and couldn't get to grips with it. So - invest all that money and get another lifelong companion.
Exactly what I was looking for

The instrument is used for practice in readiness. Very nice sound. Clearly, something to get used to in the posture due to the shape, but this is not a shortcoming. Already looking forward to having the guitar with me on the next vacation.

What does the headline mean? The Martin Backpacker is not trying to replace a classical guitar. The Martin Backpacker plays and sounds in its own category. It sounds somewhere between a banjo and a ukulele, and it does it really well. It is highly recommended for country, western or blues. The long sustain also makes it very useful for solo playing. In comparison, the side resonates almost as long as a regular western guitar.
Classical pieces sound a bit flat due to the small sound box. It is by no means quiet :-)
Playing on the Martin Backpacker is easiest with a strap and takes a short time to get used to. In my opinion, as with any foreign guitar.
The workmanship is great, even if the Backpacker is made in Mexico. One must not forget that guitars from Martin usually cost more than 1000 €.

The service of Kirstein was great, I like to buy there again! The only downer was DPD, who got a big hole in the second box. Fortunately, the box of Martin Backpacker was intact and thus also the guitar in one piece.

Many thanks to the team Kirstein
