Ibanez is world-renowned for top-tier shredding guitars, but the company also masters building acoustics tailored to the needs of electric players — like the AEWC series. Inspired by the fast playability and modern look of an electric guitar, the AEWC presents a slim, contemporary acoustic that shredders can pick up and play without relearning. The Comfort Grip Nyatoh neck ensures excellent playability, while the rosewood fingerboard delivers a balanced tone with focused mids.
The quilted maple art-grain top, crafted on basswood, impresses with appealing figuring, complemented by sapele back and sides that provide warm, full midrange and clear brilliance. Sound is captured by an Ibanez undersaddle pickup that faithfully reproduces the guitar's natural voice. The AEQ-2T preamp lets you fine-tune bass and treble and features an integrated tuner that works even without a plugged cable. The instrument is rounded out by a rosewood top-loading bridge that allows fast, hassle-free string changes without bridge pins.
