Taylor Gold Label Collection - Featuring Hawaiian Koa!
With a new body design, a new neck joint, new bracing, and a fresh aesthetic, Taylor’s Gold Label Collection delivers a stunning, vintage tone unlike anything Taylor has ever produced. It’s more reminiscent of flattop guitars from the 1930s and 1940s.
This new tonal recipe includes 3 key ingredients:
A New Super Auditorium Shape
The proportions resemble Taylor’s Grand Auditorium, but the body is slightly longer and the lower bout a bit wider. Andy describes it as a “classically proportioned series of curves.”
New Fanned V-Class Bracing
In this V-Class variant, the braces fan out across the lower part of the soundboard. They’re also attached with traditional hot hide glue.
A New Long-Tenon Neck Joint
The improved wood joint of the Long-Tenon Neck Joint results in more resonance in the lower register and a tone comparable to historic guitars with dovetail neck joints. (But this design remains glue-free and offers even easier and more precise micro-adjustment of the neck angle for the guitar).
