Martin Guitar GPC-16E Vintage Tint

Martin GPC-16E - Versatile Grand Performance Acoustic Guitar With Cutaway!

The Martin GPC-16E combines the balanced Grand Performance body shape with a comfortable 000 body depth, a cutaway and stage-ready electronics. The combination of a spruce top and solid East Indian Rosewood back and sides delivers a broad acoustic spectrum with strong bass, overtone-rich depth and clearly defined highs. That makes the acoustic guitar equally suited to dynamic strumming, nuanced fingerstyle and expressive lead passages.

Grand Performance With Comfortable 000 Body Depth

The Grand Performance body blends sonic presence with a balanced playing feel. In this version Martin uses the slimmer depth of a 000 body, so the guitar sits comfortably against the player without sacrificing powerful projection. The cutaway eases access to the upper registers of the ebony fretboard and thus significantly expands the instrument's playing range. Guitarists who switch between chord accompaniment, fingerstyle and melodic passages especially benefit from this versatile design.

Spruce and Solid East Indian Rosewood

The spruce top delivers a direct, dynamic response, while the solid East Indian Rosewood back and sides give the sound a deep bass foundation and pronounced overtone structure. At the same time the highs remain articulated and clear. The scalloped X-bracing supports resonance and sustain and allows the top to respond effectively to varying attack dynamics. The result is a balanced tonal picture that works convincingly for both solo playing and within an arrangement.

Long Scale for Definition and Dynamic Response

With a scale length of 25.4 inches the GPC-16E offers a clear attack and a defined feel across the entire register. The neck is made from selected hardwood and sports the proven Modified Low Oval profile, paired with an ebony fretboard. The nut width of 44.45 mm gives plenty of room for precise fingerstyle playing while remaining comfortable for chord work. Style 28 fretboard inlays echo classic Martin aesthetics, while open nickel tuners complement the traditional look.

L.R. Baggs Element for Stage and Recording

The Martin GPC-16E is fitted with an L.R. Baggs Element for amplified use. That lets you plug the instrument directly into acoustic amps, PA systems or recording equipment. The ebony bridge and bone saddle complete the high-quality acoustic construction. The guitar ships equipped with Martin Era Treated Legacy Medium strings. A softshell case is also included to protect the instrument during transport and storage.
