Ovation Celebrity Elite CE4412 - Electro-Acoustic 12-String With Characteristic Roundback!

The Ovation Celebrity Elite CE4412 blends the overtone-rich character of a 12-string acoustic with Ovation's unmistakable construction: a solid spruce top, a mid-depth Lyrachord body and laterally arranged multi soundholes. The cutaway eases access to higher frets, while the built-in Ovation electronics ready the instrument for direct connection to amps, PA and the stage.

Solid Spruce Top and Scalloped X-Bracing

The solid spruce top forms the acoustic foundation of the CE4412. It's supported by a scalloped, quartersawn X-bracing that stabilizes the top while allowing free vibration. On a 12-string this yields a broad, layered tonal spectrum with pronounced overtones. The mid-depth Lyrachord body follows Ovation's classic roundback concept and combines an ergonomically rounded back with the distinctive construction of the Celebrity series.

Multi Soundholes With Signature Elite Design

Rather than a single central soundhole, the Celebrity Elite uses several laterally placed multi soundholes. This leaves a larger central area of the top intact as a unified vibrating surface, while the openings sit closer to the player. Multi-piece epaulettes made from different woods frame the soundholes and make the Elite series' characteristic construction immediately recognizable.

12-String With Comfortable Playability

The Nato neck is paired with an Ovangkol fingerboard and, with a nut width of 47.6 mm, provides the space required for twelve strings. The 643 mm scale length delivers familiar response, while the mid cutaway facilitates access to higher fretboard positions. Pearloid dot inlays help orientation on the fingerboard. The bridge is also Ovangkol, and oil-encapsulated Ovation tuners secure tuning for all twelve strings.

Ovation CP-100 Slimline Pickup and OP-4CT Preamp

For amplified use the CE4412 is equipped with an Ovation CP-100 Slimline pickup. The slim bridge-mounted pickup sends the acoustic signal to the OP-4CT preamp. The built-in tuner makes on-instrument tuning easier—a practical advantage on a 12-string with its six extra strings. That makes the Celebrity Elite ideal for unplugged playing as well as rehearsals, recording and direct use through a PA.
