Marshall JVM410H - Commanding Sound Quality!
With four full-featured channels, each offering 3 core sounds, the guitar universe faces no limits in flexibility. The twelve core sounds in all-tube design will make any die-hard guitarist's heart beat faster! All three modes per channel are color-coded: green, orange and red. You select the individual modes by pressing the channel-select switch repeatedly. By cleverly switching the active tube stages (modes) you get completely independent core sounds. For example, the tone control in the green mode of the clean channel sits before the main gain stage and thus delivers the typical American clean sound.
For the unmistakable JCM 800 sound (the orange-marked sound of the second channel), the tone control is arranged after the main gain stage. That's what the JVM does that digital amplifiers often only wish they could: it offers the characteristic circuits of many different amplifiers in a single unit—yet in genuine all-tube technology! In the red sound of the fourth channel, by activating all gain stages the JVM, by the way, delivers the greatest gain potential Marshall has ever offered!
4 Channels With 12 Core Sounds - In Pure All-Tube Technology
The JVM sets a new benchmark in guitar amplification! Despite the enormous capabilities of this 100-watt amp, it operates without a single semiconductor in the signal path. All controls, the channel and mode switching, the activation of the parallel effects loop, the master switching and the reverb activation are executed exclusively by relays. That keeps the JVM always dynamic and lets it benefit 100% from the qualities of true tube amplification!
Programmable Relay Technology Par Excellence
For each individual core sound mode (three per channel) you can freely store the signal routing as well as the reverb, effects and master volume settings. But that's not all: for each of the twelve core sounds the last active relay-switch configuration is saved, so recalling a mode restores the matching sound setting. A programmable EQ was deliberately omitted, because that would either compromise the sound or require the use of sluggish motor pots. Instead, during the switching process the signal is muted for a full 6 milliseconds—a mute you won't notice in practice! Four independent tone controls and switchable master volumes pamper live use with excellent access to the amp sounds.
Access via Programmable Footswitch or MIDI
With the freely programmable, patented six-way footswitch (PEDL00044) you can store complete sound settings and recall them easily. Which setting sits on which footswitch is decided by the JVM player. You can assign six different settings to the six buttons on the stageboard—each consisting of channel selection, active mode, reverb activation, effect loop and master volume choice. Alternatively, any front-panel switching function of the amp can be copied to any footswitch.
Despite the stageboard's extensive capabilities, communication with the amp and its power supply is handled simply via a mono jack cable. The currently active functions are indicated both on the front panel and on the stageboard. All settings remain stored on the stageboard—so your footswitch configuration is available on any JVM. Users of multi-effect units can recall all sound settings via program change. There are 128 MIDI presets and all 12 MIDI channels available.
JVM Heads Play Well With a Wide Range of Cabinets
When choosing cabinets the JVM410H head leaves nothing to be desired—its output transformer provides 4-, 8- and 16-ohm windings. That lets you run all common speaker combinations without problems. We especially recommend pairing it with the 1960AV or 1960BV.
These cabinets support the head across the entire audible spectrum and optimize the amp's extraordinary tonal variety. For slightly more moderate applications the 1960AHW/1960BHW with G12H30 or the 1960AX/1960BX/1960TV cabinets with Greenback speakers are recommended. But even the standard 1960A and 1960B cabinets deliver a commanding stage sound with the JVM. The combo version of the head, the JVM410C, is fitted with a Celestion Vintage and a Celestion Heritage speaker.

All channels and modes deliver very convincing sounds and they inspire me!
At the appropriate volume, the amp LIVES up; however, it sounds good even at room volume and not at all nasal or scratchy (at least with the above speaker).
I can warmly recommend the amp!
