Yamaha Genos 2

One of the most important sounds for any keyboard player is the piano. That’s why we not only added new pianos but also enhanced existing piano sounds to a much higher quality. The CFX, Yamaha’s flagship piano, now features more dynamic layers, 88-key sampling, and double the sample length compared to its predecessor. Additionally, there is a Character Grand, a well-played German grand piano from the 1980s. It stands out with its edgier yet still rounded tone and is perfect for pop and jazz music, among others. The U1 Upright, Yamaha’s top upright piano, is tuned to provide a contemporary sound for modern pop songs. If you’re looking for a more cinematic piano sound, you can try the rich, melancholic tone of the new Felt Piano.

Legendary FM Synthesis

As the first arranger workstation, Genos2 features a dual sound generator that provides not only AWM technology but now also FM synthesis.

FM has a rich, dynamic sound and powered Yamaha’s legendary DX7, which hugely shaped the sound of the 1980s. The iconic DX7 presets and a range of new, modern FM voices are integrated into the accompaniment styles and one-touch settings and can be accessed at the push of a button, giving Genos2 a warm and fresh sound.

Ambient Drums

With the new Ambient Drums, you can choose with a single live controller between a powerful, dry, direct drum sound and a more distant, reflective room sound. This offers endless possibilities for the sound character when playing with accompaniment styles. The drums are the backbone of every rhythm section, so this feature greatly enhances your playing experience.

Style Dynamics Control

For the first time in an arranger workstation, the volume and especially the dynamics of all styles, including user styles, can be changed with a simple live controller. You can choose to play your backing band at a soft pianissimo volume, a strong fortissimo volume, or anything in between.

REVelation Reverb

Reverb is often overlooked, but we experience it every day around us. In arranger workstations, reverb is used on voices, styles, MIDI songs, multi-pads, and the microphone input. That’s why the introduction of Steinberg’s REVelation Reverb has such a big impact on the overall sound of Genos2.

REVelation is extremely high-resolution, resulting in a transparent, natural sound. It’s the perfect addition for an arranger workstation where reverb finds targeted use across a variety of voices, styles, and vocals.
