An Epiphone Reissue Inspired by Gibson Custom of the Classic '57 Goldtop with Humbucker Pickups!

1957 was the year the Les Paul, as most guitarists know it today, truly came into its own. It was the first full year it was equipped with "Patent Applied For" humbucker pickups. The humbuckers, together with the ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge and Stop Bar tailpiece, which first appeared on the Les Paul Custom in late 1953 and on the Goldtop in late 1955, were the defining features many players still prefer over earlier models with wraparound bridge/tailpiece and P-90 pickups, making the Les Paul a true rock icon.

Now Epiphone proudly presents, in collaboration with Gibson Custom, the 1957 Les Paul Goldtop Reissue, a stunningly authentic, Gibson Custom-inspired reissue of the early Les Paul Goldtops with humbuckers, delivering the vintage look and Les Paul performance at an affordable price.

It features a solid mahogany body with a carved, plain maple top. The finish is a new Vintage Gloss version of the classic gold color, giving it a vintage style without appearing overly aged. The one-piece solid mahogany neck has a 50s Rounded Medium C profile and a long tenon neck joint for excellent stability and sustain. The bound rosewood fretboard is adorned with pearloid trapezoid inlays and fitted with 22 medium-jumbo frets, just like the original 1957 models. It sports an aged Epiphone pearloid logo and the "Les Paul Model" script in gold on the Gibson-style "Open Book" headstock. Even the side position markers match the size and historically accurate placement of the vintage 1957 Les Paul Standard models.

The hardware is nickel-plated, including the ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge, historic aluminum Stop Bar tailpiece, and Epiphone Deluxe "Single Ring" Keystone tuners. The electronics are top-notch, with two USA Gibson Custombucker humbuckers with Alnico 3 magnets, hand-wired with CTS potentiometers, Bumblebee paper-in-oil capacitors, a Switchcraft pickup toggle switch, and a 1/4" output jack.

A historically inspired hardshell case with a brown exterior and pink plush interior, featuring Gibson Custom Graphics-inspired artwork, is also included.
