Lee Malia is regarded as a British rock icon. He is a founding member and lead guitarist of the Grammy-nominated band Bring me the Horizon. At Jackson, we collaborated with the string wizard to design and build a very personal Signature LM-87. A solid yet sophisticated metal axe for refined heavy riffs and modern alt-rock creations. With its Surfcaster body made of Okoume, exclusive three-ply pickguard, and chrome hardware, the LM-87 radiates a cool vintage character. Here, classic design meets modern features. The thin open-pore finish and subtle binding on the body and neck deliver a warm, organic feel – but don’t be fooled, this axe packs a serious punch! The three-piece Okoume neck in D-profile carries an Amaranth fretboard with binding and plays lightning fast.

Custom Jackson Signature pickups give the LM-87 a distinctive voice. The bridge humbucker can be coil-split via push/pull function. The strings run over a TOM-style (Tune-O-Matic) bridge with anchored tailpiece and mini tuners, keeping tuning stable even during wild playing in drop tunings. In developing the Jackson Lee Malia LM-87, we worked closely with the artist. Our goal was to build a comfortably playable high-performance guitar that perfectly expresses his musical ideas, no matter how wild. The result is a signature instrument with authentic vintage vibe and modern features. A must-have for metal players who love to play hard and heavy but don’t want to sacrifice a smooth, fluid feel.
