This hollowbody jazz guitar features a fully resonant body with a maple back and sides topped with spruce. The electric tone conversion is handled by two Ibanez GB Special Minihumbuckers, while hardware includes the GB10 tailpiece, an adjustable ebony bridge, and precise tuners to complete the setup.

Jazz Guitar With High Playability

For the large fully resonant body of the Ibanez GB10, Ibanez uses classic materials, crafting the back and sides from laminated maple and the top from spruce. Accordingly, this hollowbody electric guitar delivers a brilliant sound, whose warm wood tone and harmonious sonic development are perfectly suited for both classic and modern jazz. Thanks to the slim neck profile, the guitar offers exceptional playability, with the neck-to-body joint located at the 15th fret allowing unrestricted access to the upper frets while playing.

Floating Humbuckers

The electric tone conversion of the Ibanez GB10 is handled by two Ibanez GB Special Mini Humbuckers, mounted floating to ensure the top’s free vibration. Equipped with classic Alnico magnets, both pickups skillfully capture the resonant dynamics of the hollowbody construction, delivering deep, clear bass, vocal mids, and an airy high-frequency range. The classic wiring with a 3-way toggle switch and individual volume and tone controls for each pickup provides an almost infinite palette of tonal colors, offering the perfect foundation for expressive playing.

Perfectly Matched Hardware

The Ibanez GB10’s setup is completed by perfectly matched hardware. The strings are anchored by the distinctive GB10 tailpiece, which allows separate tension adjustment for the low and high strings via two screws. From there, the strings run over the height-adjustable ebony bridge toward the headstock, where they first pass over a nut made of brass and bone before reaching the reliable and precise tuners.

George Benson and Ibanez

George Benson was born on March 22, 1943, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and was regarded as a musical prodigy from a young age, impressing with his virtuosic guitar playing. In the 1960s, Benson gained initial prominence through collaborations with Jack McDuff and Miles Davis on their studio sessions and performances. In the 1970s, George Benson launched his highly successful solo career. Influenced by jazz, pop, and R'n'B elements, his albums sold millions and earned him ten Grammy Awards along with multiple gold and platinum certifications. Since 1977, Benson has also sworn by Ibanez jazz guitars, which support his music with outstanding sound and perfect playability.
