Fender SRV SIG. STRAT PF 3TS W/C Stevie Ray Vaughan Stratocaster Signature Electric Guitar in 3-Color Sunburst including Case!
If there were a Mount Rushmore for Strat players, the legendary Stevie Ray Vaughan would definitely be immortalized there. Shortly before his tragic and premature death in 1990, he collaborated with Fender to develop a signature Stratocaster. The resulting Stevie Ray Vaughan Stratocaster features the early '60s oval neck shape, a Pao Ferro fretboard with jumbo frets, three Fender Texas Special Single-Coils, gold-plated hardware, a reversed vintage tremolo unit for left-handers, and a striking "SRV" pickguard. Our tribute to a true master.
Jumbo Frets
Our largest frets. Jumbo frets are tall and wide. They provide a noticeably firm grip when playing and make vibrato or bending easier. Ideal for guitarists with large hands and strong fingers.
Thick Oval Neck Profile
Vaughan preferred a robust oval neck (referring to the cross-section shape). Just like his signature guitar. Not too thick, not too slim, comfortably rounded. The slightly thicker material produces long sustain and supports the instrument's resonance.
Texas Special Pickups
Texas Special Single-Coils are overwound pickups that deliver a big, bluesy sound with penetrating output. They consist of five Alnico magnets each, enameled coil wire, and individually adjusted pole pieces, giving you a balanced signal for every single string. Let your instrument sing in every tone color, from deep, crisp bass through well-focused mids to crystal-clear highs.
"SRV" Pickguard
The black pickguard draws attention. The master's initials are clearly engraved here.
Pau Ferro Fretboard
A relatively unknown but fantastic tonewood. Pau Ferro comes from South Africa and is tonally related to rosewood, but somewhat brighter and considerably harder.
Left-Handed Stratocaster Tremolo
On a right-handed model? Yes, that's intentional. Vaughan, like Jimi Hendrix, preferred the "reversed" installed left-handed tremolo, even though the guitar is built as a right-handed model. The arm is positioned over the strings instead of underneath, which suits Vaughan's playing style.
