From his early work with the Yardbirds through his time with the Jeff Beck Group, Beck, Bogert & Appice, as a session musician and throughout his solo career, Jeff Beck was one of the most influential lead guitarists of all time.

As a guitarist for guitarists and a sonic innovator, he mastered multiple genres—playing rock, blues, hard rock and jazz fusion—helped popularize feedback, fuzz pedals and distortion, and influenced countless musicians with his unmistakable style. Beck won eight GRAMMY Awards, including six for Best Rock Instrumental Performance, and received the Ivor Novello Award for his outstanding contribution to British music. He was also inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice: as a member of the Yardbirds and as a solo artist.

A Guitar That Made History

His heavily modified 1954 Les Paul, famous for its unique chocolate-brown/oxblood finish and known to millions simply as the "Oxblood," was immortalized on the cover of his breakthrough solo album "Blow by Blow." The original Oxblood recently sold at auction for a record $1.3 million. In 2009 Gibson Custom reissued the Oxblood in a limited run of just 50 aged guitars that remain highly sought after by collectors. Now Epiphone, in collaboration with Gibson Custom, proudly presents the Jeff Beck Oxblood 1954 Les Paul, based on his legendary 1954 Les Paul.

A Classic Returns

It features a mahogany body with a maple top, a one-piece mahogany neck with a long neck tenon and a Jeff Beck Custom Large C neck profile, a rosewood fingerboard with 22 medium-jumbo frets and aged mother-of-pearl trapezoid inlays, plus a Gibson "Open Book" headstock with an Epiphone aged mother-of-pearl logo. The headstock is fitted with a low-friction Graph Tech nut and Schaller M6 90 tuners.

It's powered by two Gibson Custombucker humbucking pickups made in the USA, wired with 50s-style wiring using CTS potentiometers and Mallory capacitors. Other faithful details inspired by the original include gold speed knobs, a Les Paul pickguard with a gap over the bridge pickup, and a Gibson Historic wraparound bridge. The guitar ships in an Epiphone hardshell case with "Inspired By Gibson Custom" graphics and includes a vintage-style replica strap.
