The Artcore Expressionist line opens another chapter in the story of Ibanez's legendary hollow bodies. For decades Ibanez has refreshed the market with a wide range of designs—from gritty semi-hollow hybrids to classic jazz boxes. The trademark of the Expressionist series are the original Super 58 pickups, which also appear on the signature models of George Benson, Pat Metheny and John Scofield.

These pickups are prized for their warmth, balanced articulation and excellent response—qualities that make them ideal for jazz and many other styles. The three-piece Nyatoh/Maple neck provides balanced resonance and a solid mid- and low-end foundation, while the Macassar ebony fingerboard delivers clear highs, quick response and long sustain. Medium frets ensure precise playability and a comfortable feel.

The flamed ash top, back and sides (quilted ash) not only impress with their elegant figure but also produce a bright, dynamic tone with plenty of sustain. The proven Super 58 pickups offer medium output and classic vintage character. They are complemented by the Gibraltar Performer bridge, which provides excellent tuning stability and sustain, and the Quik Change III tailpiece, which makes string changes especially comfortable.
