Spira S-500 QGY E Transparent Grey

I bought the Spira s-500. It has the well-known wood combination of mahogany and roasted maple neck, but the beautiful top is not too thick. I suspect 1-2 millimeters. But never mind for now. The Spira s-500 comes with locking tuners from our own production which are really good. I normally use Gotoh lockings on my other guitars, but these are just as good and you don't need to change them. The Spira is very well made, no flaws in the finish or workmanship, very well done. The two passive humbuckers that are installed are fitted in almost all Spiras and sound a little too sterile for my taste, less dynamic, depending on the amplifier, but there is enough power. I replaced the pickups with EMG Jim Root Daemonum in black, which I still had, absolutely amazing. The e-compartment offers enough space for all the electronics. The nut of the S-500 was well filed, except for the G-string, which was slightly too high. The strings are, as so often on a newly bought guitar, just crap, dull sounding, but that's not bad, I recommend the Ernie Ball Ultra Slinky 10-48, which is also enough for Drop D, further down of course something thicker. For the price you can also get good Ibanez etc. but not with this hardware, i.e. locking tuners etc. Oh well, about the neck, absolutely top, can be adjusted well depending on the string gauge. Nothing buzzes, just great, similar to the neck of an RG from Ibanez, frets perfectly dressed. So, that must be enough for a purchase decision, except for the pickups, which may be sufficient for one or the other, there's nothing to complain about with the Spira s-500 QGY E Transparent Grey....5*****
