Ibanez RGDR61G-WH White

Ibanez RGDR61G-WH - Uncompromisingly Built for Downtuning!

The Ibanez RGDR61G-WH blends the RGD family's resolutely modern approach with an extended 26.5" scale length, active Fishman Fluence Modern humbuckers and a fast Wizard III neck. The result is a 6-string electric guitar whose construction is specifically tailored to low tunings, precise playing and modern metal tones.

RGD Concept With Extended Scale Length

Downtuning places different demands on an electric guitar than standard tuning. Ibanez answers this in the RGD design with a 26.5" extended scale length. It supports playing in the factory-set D tuning and provides the structural basis for a defined handling of low registers. At the same time, the instrument retains a familiar six-string layout. The deep cutaways ease access to the upper frets and emphasize the shape designed for modern, technically oriented playing.

Wizard III Neck and Ebony Fretboard

The five-piece neck of maple and walnut carries Ibanez's signature Wizard III profile and is bolted to the Okoume body. With 19 mm thickness at the first fret and 21 mm at the twelfth, the neck construction remains slim. The ebony fretboard has a flat 400 mm radius and 24 jumbo frets. Luminescent side dots aid orientation on dark stages, while the offset ring inlays give the fretboard an individual look.

Fishman Fluence Modern for Versatile Metal Tones

Two active Fishman Fluence Modern Humbucker Ceramic pickups form the electric core. Via the push/pull volume control, two voicings are available so different tonal characters can be accessed directly on the guitar. A 3-way switch handles pickup selection. This keeps controls clear and simultaneously flexible enough for various modern high-gain and metal applications.

Solid Hardware for a Direct Playing Feel

The Gibraltar Standard III bridge relies on a fixed construction and is combined with locking tuners. The hardware is therefore clearly aimed at straightforward handling without a tremolo system. The guitar ships with a .010-.046 string set and the tuning D, A, F, C, G, D from the highest to the lowest string. In this way the entire construction—from the neck through the scale length to the hardware—integrates into the RGDR series' consistent downtuning concept.
