Fender Custom Shop 2024 Collection Time Machine 1967 Stratocaster Relic Aged Charcoal Frost Metallic

With this 1967 Stratocaster the Fender Custom Shop taps into a particularly interesting phase of Stratocaster history and combines it within the 2024 Collection Time Machine with a custom-selected specification. The large headstock, the period-correct decal and the round-lam fingerboard clearly reference the mid-1960s. At the same time, this specific instrument gains a very individual presence through the beefy neck, the bound fingerboard and the deliberately aged details.

Historical Idea, Unusually Consistently Executed

The two-piece alder body forms the classic basis while the quartersawn maple neck with its 60 Style Oval C profile represents a characterful take within the historical concept. Particularly striking is the AAA rosewood fingerboard with parchment binding. Mother-of-pearl inlays on the fingerboard face and on the fingerboard edge complement the elaborate neck work. The large headstock and the vintage-style tuners with the Fender logo deliberately reference this Fender era without turning the guitar into a mere replica of isolated standard features.

Texas Special Pickups in the Time Machine Concept

Three hand-wound Fender Custom Shop Texas Special Strat single-coil pickups define the electric side of this Stratocaster. Neck, middle and bridge positions are each equipped with the respective hand-wound version. Added to this is the Fender Strat Vintage Modified Wiring #2 with the classic 5-way switch. The combination firmly anchors the instrument in the traditional Stratocaster world while the carefully assembled Custom Shop specification gives it its own character.

Relic Meets Closet-Classic Hardware

The relic concept on this instrument is deliberately not applied identically across every component. While the body, pickguard, pickup covers and knob caps are distinctly aged, Fender uses closet-classic hardware for the metal parts. This contrast is part of the instrument's specific specification. Nitrocellulose is part of the historic finish concept and supports the consistent Time Machine orientation. The Vintage Stratocaster tremolo and the separate vintage tremolo arm carry the design through to the hardware.
