The guitar arrived in very good condition. No paint scratches, all protective foils on it and strings somewhat relaxed all tuned to about D# standard, which speaks for a factory control. The neck is as straight as it needs to be, the frets are not sharp, the varnish on the neck has sealed the sides of the Indian Laurel so that it is really nice and smooth on the neck.
The strings were very thin, probably the 9s as shown in the ad. All pots, switches and tuners run scratch-free, the output on the amp also sounds clean.
After the inspection, it was clear that I got what I ordered.
I have studied the Jazzmaster setup intensively and can only recommend watching a few videos about it. Before you buy, this is also recommended for you, because what the Internet said I also found 1/1. In my opinion, home processing is a must for a good playing experience because the Jazzmaster stands and falls with the setup and the devil in the detail.
What I had to do and still have to do in the future:
Fret polish - Really really rough frets with signs of discoloration that could be rust.
Fretboard care - really extremely dried out wood. I applied Lemon-Oil 3 times and it was eagerly absorbed. It might be worth paying more attention to this in the first few months
Adjusting the action - the action is very high. Both at the nut and above the 12th fret. The bridge is also quite high and should be lower for the action. But since the bridge of a Jazzmaster should be relatively high in terms of playability, I will do a neck shimming
Neck shim - if you don't know this: google it, it is advisable to spend some money and use wood instead of a credit card/business card.
New strings - I think this is mandatory for all guitars. After researching, I used 11s instead of my usual 10s Earny Ball Regular Slinky. Supposedly the thicker diameters are better for getting a low action without conflicting with the bridge.

Not so good : 2 screws for adjustment of pickups worn out and unusable. Pickup selector switch (toggleswitch) not in order (rear P/U can only be switched on with many
back and forth). But both does not cloud the overall impression. Maybe Kirstein's service will send me a replacement.

...It became the Classic Vibe! Production was 2025!
My concerns were immediately dispelled when I inspected the baby. Factory setup was surprisingly done, the neck was perfectly adjusted and it was octave clean too! Frets perfectly dressed and not tarnished, no sprout or similar, strings were D'Addario 9s. Really fine! Unfortunately the tremolo lever is missing...
Now to the technical part:
I used a shim 0.5 in the neck pocket and put on 10 gauge strings. This is enough to keep the bridge still due to the higher pressure and is absolutely necessary. No strings jump out. 11s are too tight with the long scale length.
I polished the frets with steel wool and oiled the fingerboard (I always do this)
Then I set the action to 1.75 E and 1.25 e. Acoustically it buzzes slightly, but you can't hear any buzzing on the amp.
Yes, it's a blast on the amp. I'm a huge Sonic Youth fan and the Gitte passed the test with flying colors.
If you're lucky with the dispersion, this is the price/performance winner over the J Mascis Jazzmaster! Recommended buy!
