Fender Troy van Leeuwen Jazzmaster RW - Oxblood

Since the early 90s, Troy Van Leeuwen has supported some of the most successful, progressive alternative rock bands with his structural guitar playing and his signature atmospheric sound. From Failure to A Perfect Circle, Queens of the Stone Age, Eagles of Death Metal, Puscifer, and many other creative bands of the 90s, Van Leeuwen brought a powerful musical diversity with his expertise.

The Troy Van Leeuwen Jazzmaster is as distinctive as the sound the musician draws from it. Its glossy Oxblood finish and four-ply red tortoise pickguard radiate a dark allure, contrasted intriguingly by the two white "Witch Hat" knobs. The 2-channel circuit (Lead/Rhythm) uses a 2-way toggle switch on the upper horn of the cutaway instead of the usual slider switch.

The Mustang bridge with brass saddles is combined with a Jazzmaster string holder. Features also include a maple neck with a C-profile and truss rod adjustment at the neck heel transition, a 7.25" radius rosewood fingerboard with 21 vintage style frets and pearloid block inlays, two American Vintage '65 Jazzmaster single-coils with a 3-way toggle switch, and vintage tuners. Includes a hardshell case.

Key Features at a Glance

  • Oxblood finish with four-ply red tortoise pickguard & matching headstock
  • Maple neck with C-profile, classic truss rod adjustment at neck heel
  • Bound rosewood fingerboard (7.25") with 21 vintage style frets & pearloid white block inlays
  • Dual American Vintage '65 Jazzmaster single-coils
  • 3-way toggle switch on the lower horn
  • Dual-circuit "Lead/Rhythm" switching with toggle switch on the upper horn
  • Mustang bridge with brass saddles & Jazzmaster string holder

Bound Rosewood Fingerboard with Block Inlays

Bound rosewood fingerboard with block inlays: Van Leeuwen’s signature Jazzmaster features a period-typical rosewood fingerboard reminiscent of the 60s. Elegant details include white binding and block inlays.

Special Oxblood Finish

What a color! At first glance, the Troy Van Leeuwen Jazzmaster looks black. When moved, the light shifts and the dark Oxblood shimmers in deep blood-red hues.

Matching Headstock

This mysterious color is simply too beautiful not to use on the headstock as well: on the Troy Van Leeuwen Jazzmaster, body and headstock are painted identically in Oxblood.

American Vintage '65 Jazzmaster Pickups

Troy Van Leeuwen wanted a truly phenomenal sound for his signature model and therefore chose two fully voiced American Vintage '65 Jazzmaster pickups from the American Vintage series. Perfect match!

Jazzmaster Bridge with Mustang Brass Saddles

This detail was personally selected by Troy Van Leeuwen: the Jazzmaster bridge on his signature guitar is equipped with chromed Mustang brass saddles.

Chrome Lead/Rhythm Switch

Unusual but classy: instead of the traditional Jazzmaster lead/rhythm switch on the upper horn, the Troy Van Leeuwen Jazzmaster features a chrome toggle switch there.

Stone Age Jazzmaster Style!
