ESP LTD EC-400QM: Classic shape, powerful sound!

The ESP LTD EC-400QM is a single-cut electric guitar that combines expressive wood grain with active electronics. Its quilted maple top, mahogany body, and distinctive EC contours are paired with the EMG 81/85 duo. It also features a set-thru neck joint, a fixed TOM bridge, and LTD locking tuners. This 400 Series model is ideal for guitarists who appreciate classic shapes and focus on rock and metal.

Quilted maple and mahogany

The quilted maple top showcases its natural figuring. Beneath it is a mahogany body, complemented by a three-piece mahogany neck with a rosewood fingerboard. Binding outlines the body, neck, and headstock. This combination of materials defines the EC-400QM's construction, while the figured top remains uninterrupted by a pickguard.

Unrestricted access to the upper frets

The set-thru construction joins a glued-in neck to a smoothly contoured neck-to-body transition. This keeps a pronounced heel out of your fretting hand's way in the upper frets. The Thin U profile and 22 Extra Jumbo frets complement the 24.75-inch scale length, offering a playing feel suited to both rhythm work and lead playing. The clear access to the upper fingerboard is especially useful for extended solos.

Two active humbuckers, precise tone control

The EMG 81 at the bridge uses ceramic magnets to deliver a detailed tone with pronounced high-end presence. The EMG 85 at the neck uses Alnico V magnets for a powerful character and smoother lead tones. Use the 3-way switch to select either pickup individually or both together. Two volume controls and a shared tone control keep tone shaping close at hand. The Tune-o-matic bridge with a separate tailpiece has no tremolo system; the LTD locking tuners make restringing easier with their string clamps.
