Gibson SG Standard '61 Maestro Vibrola Vintage Cherry

A perfectly packaged SG was delivered. Despite damage to the outermost box (presumably by the transport company), the contents were not damaged.
The first feelings of happiness came when unpacking. The instrument in the hand shows a perfectly crafted SG. The string action was already perfectly adjusted.
The guitar just had to be tuned and off we went. A great sound, both clean and crunch.

I am more than satisfied and am happy every time I use the SG.

Overall a very nice guitar. It sounds more "wiry" than "velvety", just no Paula.

The playability is top. The slimtaper neck dimensions are in the middle between fat and thin, which should probably fit almost everyone.
Potis and machine heads work very well. The PUs are more on the vintage side, no metal parts. But no one would expect that from a 61 replica :)

Head weight is within limits, very easy to play standing up with a strap. Weight with digital case scale exactly 2,95kg. A dream on the belt ;)

As with Peter's SG (other review here), my SG also has an unsightly spot in the varnish, namely a medium-sized varnish nose on the lower horn directly on top. That should have been polished away and could have been. It goes with Gibson probably just not 100% because the quality control is just a total failure.

Playability, feel and sound are top. But Gibson always manages to confuse me as a customer with strange sloppiness. Is there really no one who can look over the guitar before "box closed" again?
