Spira X-500: Uncompromising Performance for Modern High-Gain Playing!
If you're looking for an electric guitar built for precision, fast response and stable tuning, the Spira X-500 gives you exactly that: an aggressive X-style design, durable hardware and a wood combination that stays tight, punchy and defined.
Tonewoods and Resonance
The mahogany body delivers strong mids and a solid foundation, while the flamed maple top adds attack and clarity. The result is a sound that cuts through the band mix and retains its definition in dense arrangements.
Neck, Fretboard and Playability
The neck of Canadian roasted maple is engineered for stability and direct response. Combined with the Modern D profile, the guitar feels fast and controlled, especially for technical riffs, string-skipping and legato lines. The Ebony Tech fretboard with 24 jumbo frets supports clean bends, precise vibrato and fluid runs up into the highest registers.
Pickups and Electronics
A set of two Spira Villain high-output humbuckers delivers plenty of output, tight lows and defined highs. Even under heavy distortion your tone stays well defined, palm mutes come through dry and immediate, and single-note lines retain their focus. The setup is controlled via a 3-way switch plus one volume and one tone control.
Hardware for Tuning Stability
The hardtail bridge supports reliable intonation and direct attack, ideal for drop tunings and tight, precise playing. Locking tuners increase tuning stability and make string changes faster and more secure. That makes the X-500 a robust choice for rehearsals, studio and stage when you need to rely on your instrument.
Get it and bring your riffs into focus!

The sound is really rich and clear. It just sounds like Volbeat.
It makes you want to tap—that’s where its strengths lie. Good string action.
Pinch harmonics—outstanding! Just like an active Schecter Hellraiser.
In clean mode, it has its own distinct sound—not too warm, but rather clear. It’s no 2k Takamine, but it’s very nice.
The pots, tuners, and even the finish are superior to (my) Gibson.
Tuning down and dropping to lower keys is no problem thanks to its reverse headstock (longer overhang of the low strings).
Cons:
In the very high registers (from the 20th fret onward), the thick back of the neck is a bit bothersome—but I’d already tested and accepted that.
It isn’t top-heavy and hangs stably, even though the security locks on the neck bother me.
