Hickory is the most popular wood for drumsticks due to its shock absorption and durability. Vater uses the two best types of hickory, Shellbark and Shagbark Hickory.
Vater’s material must meet very strict quality standards to be crafted into a Vater drumstick. Vater uses only wood with a moisture content specially suited for sticks (10%-12%), so you get a drumstick with excellent playability and long-lasting durability.
