The expansion of the Recording Custom series with a premium metal snare lineup is the direct result of decades of experience and an intensive collaboration with drum legend Steve Gadd. These models not only deliver maximum consistency but also actively help drummers bring out the full tonal potential of their kit.
Flanged Shell
Repeated design evaluations by Steve Gadd ultimately led Yamaha to develop a fundamentally new snare drum. Until now, Yamaha snares traditionally featured an inward-curved flanged shell. By shifting this design element convexly to the outside, the drum now produces a noticeably more open sound and crisper articulation compared to conventional models.
Q-Type Strainer Design
The exceptionally robust Q-Type strainer offers both high stability and smooth operation, covering adjustments as well as snare wire changes.
