Tama Starphonic Snare Drum!

A massive sound with full projection and a rich, resonant tone, combined with a fine, crisp snare response. To achieve this sound, the Japanese company Tama equipped the Starphonic snare drums with a new hoop, lug, and throw-off design, mounted on a selection of uniquely constructed shells.

Perhaps the most important innovation is the "Freedom Lugs" and the "Claw Hooks": thanks to the new design, the tension claws can be easily folded aside after loosening the screws slightly. The "Grooved Hoop" hoop can thus be quickly removed and reinstalled, allowing for an extremely fast and hassle-free head change.

This system is further refined by a quick-release butt-end to speed up the replacement of the resonant head as well. The fine adjustments of the snare wires remain 100% intact, eliminating the need for readjustment.

With a 1.2 mm thick, seamless aluminum shell, this drum produces a crisp, open sound with bright, complex overtones. The aluminum shell maximizes the positive features of the STARPHONIC components, such as the Freedom Lug, the Grooved Hoop, and the Super Sensitive Hi-Carbon Snappy Snare.
