The handpan is an absolutely beginner-friendly instrument where percussion and melody come together. Playing the handpan creates soothing, spherical, and long-lasting soundscapes that captivate both the player and the listeners completely. No prior experience or music theory knowledge is required, as all tone fields on the handpan are arranged in a fixed scale.

With most models, it is impossible to strike dissonant, or "wrong" sounding notes. This allows you to follow your intuition while playing and quickly lose yourself in mysterious, dreamy melodies. With some practice, more complex rhythms, captivating chords, and two-voice melodies are naturally possible.

Sela Unity Stainless Steel Handpans are entirely handmade, perfectly tuned, and made from a stainless steel alloy. Stainless steel handpans have a significantly longer sustain than models made from nitrided steel and are therefore especially suited for slow, relaxing, and meditative playing.

At the same time, they are very low-maintenance and ideal for beginners, as their quick, sensitive response requires less effort to play. Sela Unity Stainless Steel Handpans feature a matte-gold finish, giving them a noble, high-quality look.

From Calm-Meditative to Melancholic to Powerful & Cheerful

Sela Unity Handpans are identical in construction to the stainless steel models of the Harmony series but are tuned to the fundamental frequency of 432 Hz (concert pitch A). Since they do not harmonize with conventionally tuned instruments (440 Hz), they are primarily suited as solo instruments and mainly used for esoteric or sound therapy purposes.

The B2 Amara tuning is a variation of the most popular handpan scale overall. The central note in the middle of the handpan is B2, surrounded circularly by the notes F#3, A3, B3, C#4, D4, E4, F#4, and A4. Thanks to its deep yet bright-sounding B minor scale, the B Amara allows for highly varied melodies ranging from calm-meditative to melancholic to powerful and cheerful. Especially practical: the underside of the handpan is laser-engraved with an overview of the scale and individual tone fields.

Each Sela handpan comes with a bag made of tear-resistant nylon fabric, which provides optimal protection during transport thanks to its good padding. It can be carried either by hand using two handles or comfortably as a backpack thanks to adjustable shoulder straps. A practical outer pocket offers enough space for small accessories like a metronome.

Handpan Stand

The Sela handpan stand is a lightweight, foldable playing stand specially designed for handpans and percussion instruments. The height of the handpan stand is 61 cm, making it ideal for comfortable seated playing. At the same time, the stand increases freedom of movement. With the attached cords, it can be easily and continuously adjusted in height.

Microfiber Cloth

The Kirstein microfiber cloth ensures optimal dust absorption thanks to its particularly soft and smooth surface and leaves perfectly cleaned surfaces. Even extremely sensitive surfaces can be cleaned effortlessly and scratch-free with this cloth, as its edging is very delicate and fine. The Kirstein microfiber cloth is excellently suited for dry use due to its relatively low water absorption.
