The Meinl Sonic Energy Octave Steel Tongue Drum OSTD3DGE in dark green finish combines high-quality materials with an exceptionally warm, handpan-like tonal character. Tuned to F major at A4/a' 432 Hz, it produces harmonic, calming sequences ideal for meditation, sound therapy, yoga, relaxation or intuitive playing.

Thanks to the clear tone layout and the double-octave design, both simple patterns and more complex soundscapes can be realized effortlessly.

Well-Thought-Out Tone Layout

At the center of the drum sits a powerful bass note that forms the sonic foundation. Surrounding it are eight additional tone fields, each consisting of two precisely laser-cut tongues. This construction allows each pitch to be reproduced in two octaves and creates an especially full, floating sound with long sustain.

The F major tuning with the notes F3, G3, A3, B3, C4, D4, E4, F4 and G4 enables intuitive playing without wrong notes.

High-Quality Materials and Workmanship

Made from coated stainless steel, the Octave Steel Tongue Drum impresses with high stability, corrosion resistance and consistent acoustic properties. Slight discoloration from the laser engraving may occur due to the material and does not constitute a quality defect. These marks neither affect function nor sound and emphasize the individual character of each instrument.

Flexible Sound Shaping

On the underside is a sound hole that can be closed with a silicone stopper. Played open, it unfolds an open, far-carrying sound, while the closed position makes the tone more compact and focused. Three non-slip silicone feet ensure secure support on flat surfaces and prevent unwanted slipping during performance.

Versatile Playability and Travel-Friendly

You can play the drum traditionally with the included wooden mallets with soft rubber heads, or alternatively play directly with your fingers for a more immediate feel. Whether placed on your lap, on the floor or on a table, it's ready to play right away. For safe transport a sturdy nylon bag with zipper and carry handle is included so your instrument stays optimally protected.
