An Extraordinary Cymbal Set!

Though they look raw, the Byzance Extra Dry cymbals are incredibly refined. Designed to be dry, fast, trashy, and deep, this is one of Byzance’s most captivating sounds that attracts many drummers.

The crash cymbals explode and unleash a dark texture from within, while the hi-hats and rides are crisp and defined. Made in Turkey from B20 bronze, hand-hammered into shape and raw lacquered. The underside of the cymbals is lathed and polished to a glossy finish on the bottom.

Extra Dry Medium HiHats

Distinctive hi-hat due to its weight ratio between top and bottom. Dry and defined, thick chick thanks to the heavy bottom. The light top produces a dark stick response with minimal wash.

Traditional Extra Thin Hammered Crash

The extreme lightweight and extensive hammering create a dark, trashy sound with a wide and long sustain. An extraordinary crash cymbal!

Extra Dry Transition Ride

The Transition Ride is Mike Johnston’s signature cymbal, offering a perfect transition from articulated stick attack to open crash sounds without losing definition to excessive noise. Clear ping and a present but not overpowering bell sound – an extremely versatile ride cymbal.

Extra Dry Thin Crash

A unique lightweight crash with an extremely dry and deep sound. Trashy overtones, smooth response with quick decay, resulting overall in “dryness.”

The Perfect Protection for Your Cymbals

The bag with carrying handle and backpack straps is made of water-repellent, sturdy nylon and is very robustly stitched. The large main compartment contains 4 soft dividers that split the interior into 5 sections. The 4 dividers are sewn together with extra padding at the bottom and closed at the base. This prevents your cymbals from scratching each other during transport. The outer pocket for cymbals up to 14" size also has a divider.
