Vintage Sound Meets Modern Precision!
The Tama Starclassic Walnut/Birch Shell Kit WBR34CZS is a limited edition that blends classic vintage character with modern manufacturing and innovative shell technology. This 3-piece drum shell kit targets discerning drummers who seek a warm, balanced tone with clear response and powerful attack. The combination of traditional shell configuration and premium materials delivers an authentic playing feel that convinces both in the studio and on stage.
Walnut/Birch Hybrid Shells for Maximum Depth of Tone
The shells are built from a precisely tuned hybrid construction of birch and American Black Walnut. The toms and floor tom feature 6 mm-thick shells with 4 plies of birch and 2 inner plies of American Black Walnut, while the bass drum is constructed at 8 mm with 5 plies of birch plus 2 inner plies of American Black Walnut. This design delivers an exceptional combination of warmth, clear projection and defined articulation. The sound stays controlled, punchy and musically balanced—ideal for rock, pop and many other styles.
Classic Rock Configuration with a 24" Bass Drum
The shell kit is conceived as a classic 3-piece setup and offers a particularly powerful and direct response. The 24" x 14" bass drum provides a rich low end with impressive punch, while the 13" x 9" rack tom and 16" x 16" floor tom deliver clear tonal separation and a balanced sonic picture. This configuration is specifically developed for drummers who prefer a traditional, punchy rock sound while expecting modern flexibility.
Professional Hardware for Stage and Studio
Equipped with high-quality die-cast hoops, this set enables precise tuning with stable pitch and controlled overtones. The proven Star-Cast Mounting System ensures free shell vibration and supports natural resonance. The setup is complemented by robust Starclassic lugs and an inside lacquer finish that further enhances tonal development. The chrome-plated hardware underlines the classic orientation while providing high durability and reliability in daily use.
