The Tama Starclassic Performer series evolves the Starclassic heritage. Designed to deliver a distinctive Tama sound with professional features, Starclassic Performer offers exceptional value for an undeniable drumming experience.
Evans Drumheads
The toms are fitted with Evans G1 coated batter heads and Tama clear single-ply Power Craft II resonant heads. Bass drums feature Evans clear EQ4 batter heads and Tama resonant heads with damping rings.
Star-Cast Mounting System
The Star-Cast Mounting System has always ensured maximum resonance and stability for Tama’s professional drums. Its streamlined design makes it easier to position the toms closer together for greater ease and comfort.
Maple/Birch Shells
The maple/birch combination projects warmth from maple and clarity from birch. The tones are clean, articulate, and very well balanced. The voice across the kit blends clearly, while the die-cast hoops produce clear, punchy, and full tones.
Die-Cast Hoops
Hoops affect not only the tuning of the drums but also their sound. That’s why hoop selection was crucial for the designers of Tama’s professional drum lines. We chose zinc die-cast hoops, made by injecting molten metal into molds. Die-cast hoops have higher density and more uniform shape than triple-flanged hoops, which are made by bending metal sheets. Die-cast hoops make tuning more consistent and easier because the tension rods always seat properly on the hoop. Drums equipped with die-cast hoops also deliver a crisper attack, clear and resonant highs, and much more powerful rimshots.
