State-of-the-Art Manufacturing in a '70s Style!
For more than forty years, the name Superstar has stood for groundbreaking design, high-quality craftsmanship, brilliant sound, and clear projection. Superstar Classic once again upholds this tradition by raising the bar for demanding drummers — remarkably, while lowering the price. The classic TAMA T-Shape emblem and the low-mass single lugs, based on the Superstar of the past, point to the simpler standards of the '70s, while the ingenious Star-Mount system and the new, thinner 100% maple shells overshadow everything that came before.
Shells Made of 100% Maple
Top priority in producing the Superstar series is the sound. The full, powerful character and rich resonance of the Superstar drums are achieved through the use of carefully selected woods, special manufacturing techniques, and premium bearing edges.
The 7 mm thick bass drum shell consists of 8 plies, while the snare and toms each have 6 plies of maple with a wall thickness of 5 mm.
Star-Mount System
The Star-Mount system was developed to enhance the toms’ vibration behavior. Fixed by four tension rods, its slim design allows the toms to be positioned very close together.
Low-Mass Lugs
These new lugs designed for the Superstar Classic series have minimal contact with the shell and do not affect the sound.
Comes With Complete Hardware Package
The Superstar Classic includes full hardware consisting of bass drum pedal, hi-hat stand, snare stand, and two boom cymbal stands.
All Superstar Classic sets come equipped with a double tom holder mounted on the bass drum, single-layer "Power Craft II" heads, and wooden hoops on the bass drum.
