Alesis SR 16 Drum Computer – The Classic Drum Machine!
As one of the most popular drum machines, the SR-16 is used by composers, studio owners, and live performers for one simple reason: the 233 superbly sounding natural samples, available both raw and processed with reverb. Thanks to the "Dynamic Articulation" feature, it’s possible to play the otherwise static samples with realistic tonal changes (pitch, volume, and timbre) depending on the velocity.
The 50 preset patterns stored in the device were recorded by real drummers and saved unquantized. Many other drum machines use programmed patterns that can’t shake their mechanical feel.
Each pattern includes built-in variations and fill-ins to create complete arrangements. Of course, you can also create and save your own patterns, fills, and variations.
The SR-16 is fully MIDI-controllable, supports footswitch connections, is flexible and easy to program, and features 12 velocity-sensitive pads. Its straightforward operation perfectly supports the creative process. Arranging full drum parts for a song takes just minutes.
