Time For the Big Performance!
The Celviano AP-470 makes ambitious players' hearts race: it not only impresses with its elegant design but, above all, with its outstanding AiR sound generation offering 22 authentic voices - including two distinct concert grand pianos - and a wealth of features in sound, acoustics and effects. Enjoy a truly spacious sonic experience thanks to the ability to open the piano lid. The kicker: you can even control the Celviano AP-470 with the free "Chordana Play for Pianos" app via a tablet or a smartphone.
Sound Technology
Unprecedentedly natural reproduction of the expressive power and resonance of an acoustic piano
Multi-dimensional Morphing AiR Sound Source
The features of CASIO's newly developed AiR Sound Source with multidimensional morphing reflect a love of detail, bringing out the piano's rich, resonant tones. The installed memory capacity has been expanded to allow longer sampling times and higher-quality waveform data. As a result, time-based changes in the sound are reproduced naturally, just as you would expect from a piano, from the first note that blossoms into a beautiful sustain until the tone eventually fades away.
Choice Between Two Legendary Grand Piano Sounds
The onboard sounds of two world-famous grand pianos can be selected separately, depending on the genre of music and the performance environment.
An outstanding instrument for powerful, richly reverberant performances. It reproduces classic grand piano tones across the entire range—from soft, delicate notes to strong, powerful sounds—depending on the force of your touch.
This is the right choice for bright, lush performances. It stands out with a clear, direct tone, even when playing in a band. Its tonal character is ideal for jazz and pop music.
Keyboard System
A natural playing feel close to that of a grand piano, a solid touch that turns the player's intent into sound
Tri-sensor Scaled Hammer Action Keyboard II With the Unique Timing of a Grand Piano
The difference between the sound characteristics of a grand and a digital piano shows up in the timing—from the moment the instrument is played to when the sound becomes audible. The new Tri-sensor Scaled Hammer Action Keyboard II addresses this with a three-sensor system that detects key movements in sequence.
Simulated Ebony and Ivory Keys With Optimal Grip Surface for Carefree Playing
The simulated ebony and ivory keys deliver the luxurious feel and texture and the soft touch of a grand piano keyboard. The finely crafted, textured surface prevents fingers from slipping due to sweat and gives the sensation of a perfect fingertip grip, even during extended playing.
Lid Simulator*, That Reproduces the Acoustic Effects of an Open Lid
The volume and quality of the sound change when a grand's lid is raised or lowered. The Lid Simulator reproduces this acoustic effect down to the smallest detail. You can shape your own piano sound by selecting how far the lid is raised or lowered. (*The Lid Simulator setting remains unchanged whether the piano lid is physically open or closed.)
Evolution of the Digital Piano
Overwhelming Fullness and Resonance for 88 Keys Thanks to the String Resonance Resonator
The sound produced by an acoustic piano is not just the sound of the struck strings. Other strings whose frequencies relate to those struck also vibrate, giving the music a unique resonance. In ordinary digital pianos that string resonance effect is reproduced virtually. The AiR Sound Source with multidimensional morphing takes a different approach, employing a string resonance system with a stereo resonance simulator across all 88 keys. The resonance of the 88 keys is rendered fully and naturally. The resonance produced when playing a single note differs from that when playing a chord, so the resulting variations are reproduced in a natural way. This allows players to produce different resonances controlled by the force of their touch and to experience the distinctive expressiveness of an acoustic piano in performance.
Key Off Simulator Reproduces Sound Variations Depending on How the Key Is Released
The length of the sustain and the expression of a piano vary depending on how quickly players lift their fingers after striking the keys. The new keyboard system features a Key Off Simulator that reproduces these nuances naturally. These sound components produce a decay like that of an acoustic instrument.
Pedal and Damper Resonances for Natural Resonance Behavior
The deep, beautiful resonance produced by using the damper pedal is reproduced naturally by a stereo resonance simulator applied across all 88 keys—an approach that differs from conventional effect-based simulations. The attention to detail goes so far as to simulate the resonance caused by the dampers themselves lifting when the pedal is pressed.
In addition, the damper pedal uses a continuously variable system that reproduces even subtle changes in the sustain. Even very slight pressure variations affect the sound and ensure expressive performance. (*4 setting levels)
Hall Simulator
The Hall Simulator function reproduces the different acoustic characteristics of world-famous concert halls—from simple reverbs with excellent tonal clarity to reverberant spaces with complex behavior. A powerful equalizer system ensures pianists can fully enjoy the instrument's powerful piano sound.
Concert Play
High-quality audio recordings of 10 live orchestra performances are built in. Pianists can play along with the recordings and enjoy the feeling of participating in a grand performance.

Questions about product
Question by Annelie Schilling on 12.09.2019
Good day,
are the keys weighted on this piano (Casio Celviano AP470)? And is a key cover integrated? Because the rating says something different than the description.
And is the piano shipped assembled?
MfG Annelie Schilling
Answer by Musikhaus Kirstein:
The keyboard of the AP-470 is weighted and has a hammer action that simulates the feel of an acoustic piano. A retractable keyboard cover is also given on this model. The piano comes in 5 parts: Keyboard, back panel, the two side braces and the pedal board. The assembly of the 5 parts is simple and can be mastered in a short time.
