Fit: My EC-1000 fits great in the case. It's not too tight, but still holds the guitar securely in place.
Smell: Is clearly perceptible, but does not smell pungent or chemical, but rather resinous. After I left the case open for a few days, the smell was partially gone. Whether the evaporations are harmful, I can not judge. Stickers warning of possible carcinogens were on this case as well as my EC-1000 and my PS-1000. To be on the safe side, I don't store the guitars (and the cases) in the bedroom or living room.
Quality: About two years ago I bought a matching case for my LTD PS-1000 Xtone. Since this guitar has a very special shape, I chose the original case from ESP. Compared to the Xtone case, the new case is more unstable (the lid can be twisted relatively easily, for example) and the padding also seems a bit thinner to me. Nevertheless, the case makes a stable impression when closed. The workmanship still leaves something to be desired. The lid is not 100% straight, so that after closing on the right front still remains a small slit. Not dramatic, but also not perfect.
Conclusion: For the relatively high price I hoped for a slightly better quality than I finally got. But since my guitar fits well in the case and is sufficiently protected and also the odor is quite tolerable and I ultimately do not know whether I would really be better served with another, possibly cheaper case, I decided to keep the case.

The case fits like a glove for my ESP LTD EC-1000. A case it is also, comparable to what you know and expected from the picture. Very similar there are also for Strats and Teles, also with original lettering at similar prices in only slightly better quality. The plush inside of this case is much thinner and was only loosely glued to my copy. Since the fit of the Styrofoam core is very good, however, and the guitar sits tightly, I hope that this still presses on or at least has no disadvantages. Such blemishes should not escape the quality control at the price but. There are very similar cases on the market without a logo of a well-known guitar manufacturer, which offer better quality, cleaner workmanship and better interior for less than half the price. I have about 30 guitars of all brands and types in cases standing around, most in original cases, some reordered, but some in no-name cases of the same design. Three stars gets this case in comparison only for the fit, otherwise it would have been enough for just two given the price.
