Advance Paris – French HiFi tradition since 1995

The history of Advance Paris began in France in 1995, initially under the name Advance Acoustic. The company started with speakers before increasingly focusing on the development of electronics from 2002 onwards. The first integrated amplifier followed in 2004. VU meters, powerful amplifier circuits and tubes became characteristic elements of the brand in the years that followed. The first product under the Advance Paris name was launched in 2013. Today, the portfolio includes amplifiers as well as CD players, preamplifiers and power amplifiers, streaming components and speakers.

Hybrid amplifiers: combining tubes and transistors

A distinctive feature of various Advance Paris amplifiers is their hybrid architecture. Models such as the A10 Classic and A10 APEX use tubes in the preamplifier stage and transistors for power amplification. Advance Paris follows a clear concept here: the tube stage contributes to the warm, musical character intended by the brand, while the transistor power stage provides the output and control required for the connected speakers.

The A10 Classic also demonstrates how Advance Paris combines traditional HiFi technology with modern sources. In addition to analogue connections and a phono MM input, it offers digital inputs, USB and HDMI. This allows a system to be built not only around CD players or turntables, but also to integrate a computer or television. The blue illuminated VU meters and visible tubes give the amplifier the distinctive Advance Paris appearance.

Classic, APEX and NOVA – amplifiers for different requirements

The Classic series combines traditional stereo HiFi concepts with digital connectivity. One example is the A10 Classic, a hybrid integrated amplifier with tube preamplification, Class-AB amplification, DAC and an extensive connection section. For anyone looking to build a classic stereo system while combining analogue and digital sources, it offers a versatile concept.

With APEX, Advance Paris further develops this principle. The series includes models such as the A8 APEX, A10 APEX and A12 APEX. Powerful amplification, distinctive design and broad source integration also play a central role here. The A10 APEX, for example, combines a tube preamplifier stage with transistor amplification, phono MM, digital interfaces and HDMI eARC.

NOVA represents a particularly ambitious product line. The A-i130 NOVA and A-i190 NOVA integrated amplifiers also use a hybrid concept: an ECC81 tube preamplifier stage works together with Class-AB transistor amplification. Digital signal processing and modern digital-to-analogue conversion are also included. The solid aluminium front panel and distinctive analogue meters continue the brands characteristic design language.

Streaming and compact HiFi systems from Advance Paris

Alongside classic amplifier solutions, Advance Paris offers product ranges for networked and space-saving music listening. PlayStream combines amplification with network functions and therefore serves as a streaming solution for systems where network music playback is intended to be integrated directly into the central HiFi component. MyConnect models follow an all-in-one approach and combine several functions in a single unit. The range is complemented by compact Smart Line components and WTX solutions that allow streaming and wireless functions to be integrated into different system concepts.

Which Advance Paris concept suits your HiFi system?

When choosing a system, it is worth starting with the sources you already use or plan to add. If you are primarily looking for a classic stereo integrated amplifier for speakers, turntables and digital sources, the integrated amplifiers from the Classic, APEX and NOVA lines are a useful starting point. If music is mainly played via network services, PlayStream and other streaming solutions are particularly relevant. For a compact system that combines several functions in one enclosure, the MyConnect and Smart Line concepts are worth considering.

The required connections are equally important. Phono inputs are relevant for connecting suitable turntables directly, while HDMI can simplify the integration of a television. USB as well as optical and coaxial digital inputs provide additional options for computers, CD transports and other digital sources. The available interfaces vary depending on the model and should therefore be checked carefully when choosing a component.
