Resounding Forces Of Nature With Thunderous Expression!
The Meinl Sonic Energy TDWL Thunder Drum in the large low configuration delivers impressive, deep-reaching sound effects that evoke distant thunder, rushing wind and atmospheric natural sounds.
Its special construction with an internal metal spring produces a lively, organic sound that can be shaped dynamically and used both subtly and powerfully. The lightweight synthetic body ensures the instrument sits comfortably in the hand and can be played effortlessly for extended periods.
Intuitive Playing Technique And Wide Sonic Range
The playing technique is deliberately simple yet opens up a broad spectrum of tones. If you let the metal spring vibrate freely and move the Thunder Drum gently, it produces rolling thunder sounds with long sustain. Tapping or lightly striking the spring creates sharp, hissing accents that are especially effective in performances or soundscapes.
Opening and closing the sound aperture affects the resonance behavior and enables expressive wah-wah-like effects.
High-Quality Materials For Dependable Performance
The robust plastic body is engineered for stability and low weight. Combined with the precisely tuned metal spring, the instrument not only convinces sonically but also withstands the demands of stage and studio use with ease. The synthetic handle provides a secure grip and supports controlled playing, even during dynamic movements.
Versatile In Music And Sound Design
Whether for sound journeys, meditations, theater and dance performances or experimental sound design – the Meinl Sonic Energy Thunder Drum gives you a versatile tool to create natural and emotive soundscapes. The deep, voluminous low character of the large version in particular lends your sonic environments impressive spatial depth and presence.
