Steel Tongue Drum With Octave Tones!
The Meinl Sonic Energy Octave Steel Tongue Drum is made from high-quality stainless steel. It features a central bass tone in the middle, surrounded by eight additional tones. These eight tone fields each consist of two tongues that reproduce the note in two octaves. The result is a beautiful, meditative sound similar to a handpan.
The underside of the drum houses the sound hole, which can be closed with a silicone plug to give the sound a more compact character. There are also three silicone feet on the base to prevent the drum from slipping. You can play the Octave Steel Tongue Drum with mallets or, if you prefer, with your fingers. Simply place the drum on a flat surface or on your lap to begin playing.
The scope of delivery includes two wooden mallets with rubber heads and a nice carry bag with zipper and handle!

The instrument arrived very well packaged and quickly. No damage despite the miserable service from DHL. The package was quite damaged.
An alternative delivery service to choose from would be nice in the future, as DHL is getting worse and worse and handles the parcels like a pig.

The reed drum itself looks beautiful. The appliqué is a success and makes it look special. The sisal border is also attractive. As expected, the weight is quite high.
The sound is warm and soft. The tuning of the tones is very harmonious, so that intuitive playing quickly becomes apparent.
The drum is tuned in a minor key. I like it, but that is of course a matter of taste.
I am very happy with the instrument and would buy it again.
