The LINEAR 5 MK II series is a consistent evolution of the proven and popular LINEAR 5 series. With more power at up to 3 kg less weight, more compact dimensions and access to digital optimization via the DSP CONTROL software, daily work is taken to a new level.

The compact, horn-loaded LINEAR 5 MK II 308 LTA long-throw mid/high unit offers enormous coverage depth and, thanks to the DSP with FIR filtering and DSP-Out, high flexibility and compatibility.

DSP - Powerful And Smart

High-performance, integrated DSPs allow users to tune the system components with extreme precision. They deliver more usable SPL before distortion occurs and significantly reduce the risk of feedback.

Users can not only access four matching presets directly on the loudspeakers, but via an Ethernet connection and the DSP CONTROL software set up larger systems on a Mac or PC and make adjustments during the event.

The DSP Out also makes it possible to integrate a non-networked speaker and process the signal present there independently from the speaker's DSP settings using the DSP CONTROL software.

HK Audio DSP CONTROL - Always In Control

Full control over the entire sound setup, even during soundcheck and the show? This is already known from large touring systems and the LINEAR 7 and LINEAR 9 series.

HK Audio DSP CONTROL enables remote control of all LINEAR 5 MK II components, from stage monitors to the complete PA via network and the in-house HK Audio DSP CONTROL software for Mac and PC. The functions of the powerful DSPs, such as level, EQing, limiting, delay and polarity, are thus accessible from FOH at any time.

DSP CONTROL also offers the option to access grouped functions like equalizer, limiter, level and mute via Sub and Main Groups. This greatly simplifies managing large speaker setups or multiple event spaces.

Virtual Units make it possible to create a setup in advance even without connected speakers. On site, the Virtual Units can then be conveniently replaced by the network-capable speakers of the LINEAR 5 MK II series with a single click.

Cardioid - Problem Solver For Professionals

Sharp noise restrictions, uncontrolled bass dispersion on and behind the stage and high feedback risk in the low frequency range are countered by professionals using cardioid technique for the subwoofers. This technical trick is now simple and possible without measurement equipment: rig it up - choose the preset - done!

The bass SPL of physically omnidirectional subwoofers is reduced behind the subs by the cardioid setup by up to 34 dB. Forward radiation experiences a slight increase in SPL of about 2 dB. This results in a directional, cardioid-shaped radiation pattern.

Robust Enclosures - Optimized For All Use Cases

The acoustic properties and stability of wood are unmatched by any other material in loudspeaker construction. That is why almost all LINEAR 5 MK II components are built into wooden enclosures made of MDF and birch multiplex.

LINEAR 5 MK II 118 Sub A, 118 Sub HPA and 308 LTA are made entirely from birch multiplex. Despite the robust material, LINEAR 5 MK II is extremely compact and comparatively lightweight. MultiGrip handles ensure easy handling and, together with the optional tilt brackets, provide secure hold during rigging.

For use as compact, powerful and low-feedback stage monitors, the enclosures of the LINEAR 5 XA mid/high units feature a 31° monitor angle and provide a secure and stable stance even when used on their sides. Rotatable horns allow the coverage angles to be optimally adapted to the desired setup.

The enclosures of the LINEAR 5 FA full-range mid/high units provide more punch and bass extension.

Smaller, Lighter, Louder

The LINEAR 5 MK II is smaller, lighter and louder than the LINEAR 5 series. With up to 3 kg less weight at the same SPL, the LINEAR 5 MK II 112 XA is the loudest and lightest mid/high unit in its class.

The LINEAR 5 MK II 308 LTA and HK Audio 118 Sub HPA deliver long throw and powerful bass in a compact footprint when used together.
