RØDELink Filmmaker Kit - Digital Wireless Audio System for Videographers!
The RØDELink Filmmaker Kit is aimed at videographers who want a straightforward wireless setup with excellent sound quality. It comprises RØDE's professional lavalier microphone "Lavalier", the TX-BELT bodypack transmitter and the RX-CAM receiver, which mounts directly to a camera's hot shoe.
The included lavalier microphone features a high-quality condenser omnidirectional capsule and is designed for speech recording. It is worn on the lapel, collar or chest area. The RX-CAM receiver slides directly into the camera's hot shoe. The supplied TRS coiled cable connects the receiver to the camera's microphone input. If you prefer not to mount the receiver on the camera, a 3/8" thread for tripod mounting and a belt clip are integrated.
The transmitter and receiver modules are each roughly the size of a cigarette pack and weigh about 200 g and 170 g respectively (incl. batteries). When the receiver is slid into the camera's hot shoe, its display is always visible - it shows the selected transmit channel, level and battery status of both transmitter and receiver. The display conserves battery in auto-standby mode but can be woken at any time by briefly pressing the power button.
The Filmmaker Kit uses the license- and registration-free 2.4 GHz band. If needed, up to eight RØDELink systems can operate in parallel. The range in open line of sight is up to 100 m; even under challenging conditions the signal reliably transmits at least 30 m.
The gain switches on both transmitter and receiver are useful. On the transmitter quieter sources can be boosted by +10 or +20 dB so the wireless transmission carries a healthy level. Conversely, the receiver can globally reduce the output level (-10 or -20 dB) to prevent the camera's mic input from clipping with very loud signals. For typical speakers, a setting of "+10 dB" on the transmitter and "0 dB" on the receiver is recommended.
The Filmmaker Kit includes RØDE's professional lavalier microphone "Lavalier" and a short TRS coiled cable. The RØDELink Filmmaker Kit is manufactured by RØDE in Australia.
