The Perfect Mix Of Transparency, Comfort And Reliability!
Experience the perfect mix of transparency, comfort and reliability: the reference studio headphones HD 490 Pro Plus were specifically developed for today's complex music productions. They operate on an open principle; their highly accurate sound reproduction and very realistic spatial stage give you the monitoring clarity you need to make confident mix decisions.
A Headphone For Today's Music
Music is different today. Technological progress hasn’t stopped here either. Complex parameter automation, high processing power, and the highest audio resolutions - producers and mixers are pushing creative boundaries in ways never seen before.
All of that brings complexity — and the risk of what we call "blind spots" in audio reproduction: mixes where too many instruments occupy the same space, frequencies mask each other, and individual instruments and vocals no longer stand out clearly.
That makes choosing the right headphone even more important. You need a monitor that reveals all the fine details that determine whether a mix becomes great or just average.
Precise Reproduction Across The Entire Audio Spectrum
Sennheiser's innovative "Open-Frame Architecture" provides transparency and a balanced master, delivering a comprehensive, precise and exceptionally well-defined sound image. That makes it easier to detect and fix frequency overlaps and panning issues. The result of your work will be more nuanced and detailed than ever before.
Powerful neodymium magnets and innovative bass tubes in the HD 490 Pro Plus ear cups produce precise, full and clearly defined bass. Problematic low frequencies are easier to identify and correct — mixes and masters become more accurate and clearer.
Comfort For Hours, Built To Last
The HD 490 Pro Plus was developed in Germany and handcrafted using durable components. The headphones are so light and comfortable that you can fully immerse yourself in the mix and almost forget you're wearing them. The ergonomic design spares sensitive head areas, and as a pleasant side effect of the open principle, plenty of air reaches the ears. Studio hours will feel like minutes.
The HD 490 comes with two different pairs of ear pads, one tuned for mixing and the other for producing. Both are optimized for long sessions and help prevent fatigue. The ear pads are washable and replaceable — for greater sustainability.
With dearVR MIX-SE Virtual Mixing Plugin
Included: the innovative dearVR MIX-SE plugin from Dear Reality. This keeps you in the sweet spot and turns your DAW into the ultimate virtual mixing environment. dearVR MIX-SE simulates the carefully tuned acoustics of an ideal stereo mixing studio, so your mix will translate consistently across different playback systems.
